Did you know ? How do you know if a screen is bright enough for its environment ?

You may have already wanted to work outside on your laptop or tablet and realized that even with the screen brightness at maximum, it was unreadable…

If brightness is not a major factor for a screen used indoors, it is essential d’or a screen used outside or giving on the outside to ensure a good visibility.

There are several ways to measure the luminescence emitted by a screen.
The “nits” is a unit measuring the brightness of a screen. It is equivalent to the candela per square meter (which is the unit used in the International System to measure the light intensity of a surface). An average candle produces about 1 candela.

This amount of light, spread over a square meter, is a Nit. The higher the number of nits, the brighter the surface.

To help you choose the most suitable screen, know that for full sun use, your screen must contain at least 550 Nits to be readable.
